2019 Toyota Supra 262HP Four-Cylinder Engine Spy Shots, Redesign, & Price – The new Toyota Supra will likely be provided with two various powertrains, with base versions to get a four-cylinder turbo engine in add-on to the six-cylinder we already know of.
After exploring a document from German transmission company ZF that showed that the A90 Supra will be powered by not one but two engine options, Road & Track received an affirmation from none other than Supra chief engineer Tetsuya Tada that it is indeed occurring. The document stated that the lowered-powered version of the 2019 Toyota A90 Supra will use the BMW-sourced turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder B48B20 engine creating 262hp. The six-cylinder version is packing the single-turbo 3.0-liter B58B30 unit with 335hp. Both versions will probably be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, at minimum according to the found document.
The exact same document has the new Z4 listed as effectively, with a lot of its engine and transmission details becoming the same with the new Supra. However, the Z4 appears to have a more powerful version of the 3.0-liter engine for at least one of its versions, producing 375hp.
Tada elaborated on the four-cylinder Supra, praoclaiming that it will likely be lighter and with significantly better excess weight syndication and a sharper-feeling turn-in. The Supra’s chief professional also extra that, for buyers planning to swap in a 2JZ engine, “please get the four-cylinder. It will be cheaper.”
